Lochdown
Description |
Loch 'n' load! You'll likely inflict more damage on your own weapon than the enemy ship! Time to learn some trigger discipline.
|
What makes this special? |
There are no Pyramidions, every weapon can only use normal or Lochnager ammo, and there are no gunners. Pretty self-explanatory.

Tips and Strategies |
Using Lochnager ammunition is a skill in and of itself because it inflicts damage on your own weapon... knowing what tool to use to repair your gun and when to use it is the difference between a crew member using Lochnager and using it well. The pipe wrench could be a desirable tool, especially if it allows you to bring along a buff kit for even greater damage.
Lochnager also makes it very difficult to rotate your weapon, causing aiming difficulties at point-blank range. Sometimes it's better to not use Loch because it's better to hit with many less-powerful bullets rather than just a handful of very-powerful bullets because you're spending so much time rotating your gun into position. Additionally, with no weapon restrictions, any gun might show up in this match, but guns that can use Lochnager well are emphasized. I don't anticipate seeing many Hwachas or Banshees... but, where greased ammo is commonly loaded into Gatlings and Light Carronades in normal matches, here Loch can be used and used to great effect by smart players. Lochnager also reduces arming time to allow the Lumberjack, Hades, Mines, and both Flaks to be effective at very close range, so there's a possibility you'll witness some very unique strategies here, especially since Pyramidions are banned. No double-Loch-Gatling-ram nonsense here! Think outside the box! |
